Dr. Thomas J. Klein inducted as fellow for American College of Radiation Oncology

TAMARAC, Fla. (March 2, 2020) – Radiation Oncologist Dr. Thomas J. Klein has been inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Radiation Oncology (ACRO), a national organization that provides opportunities for career and practice enhancement as a means of improving patient care.

Klein treats South Florida patients at Advocate Radiation Oncology in Tamarac, delivering world-class, compassionate care to patients with breast, prostate, lung and other types of cancers.

ACRO’s fellowship program recognizes experienced physicians who have displayed meritorious service to the organization as well as the field of radiation oncology or medicine through education, research and other service activities.

Klein was inducted during the ACRO’s Radiation Oncology Summit, which was held virtually from Feb. 24 to 27.

“When a patient comes to Advocate, they are undergoing one of the most challenging periods in their lives,” said Dr. Arie Dosoretz, the managing partner at Advocate Radiation Oncology. “Dr. Klein’s designation as an ACRO fellow provides patients with reassurance and comfort knowing they will receive extraordinary care along their cancer journey from one of the nation’s top radiation oncologists.”

Klein graduated with honors from Duke University before earning an M.D. and a Ph.D. in molecular genetics from Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Following an internship at Georgetown University Medical Center, Klein completed radiation oncology training at the Yale School of Medicine, where he served as chief resident and became Yale’s first Leonard B. Holman Research Pathway resident. He later served as the oncology preceptor for the University of Miami’s Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship Program at JFK and has taught courses at the Yale University School of Medicine, Florida Atlantic University and Mount Sinai School of Medicine.

Klein has been recognized as a “Top Doctor” by multiple publications and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Klein is a member of the American College of Radiation Oncology, American Society of Radiation Oncology, American Society of Clinical Oncology and American Radium Society.
